JamScare is a short atmospheric horror game developed in 48 hours during the Cat Jam – Indiecore game jam. It builds tension through exploration, uncertainty, and environmental storytelling rather than constant jumpscares.
I’m excited to share JamScare, a horror game we developed in just 48 hours during the Cat Jam – Indiecore game jam!
This was an intense, fast-paced challenge — and one of the most creatively rewarding projects I’ve worked on so far.
Our team of five brought this concept to life from scratch in two days, and I took a leading role in several key areas:
💡 My Main Contributions:
🔸 Game Design:
I was responsible for the game’s core mechanics, pacing, and moment-to-moment player experience. I worked on how we introduce tension, how we build and release horror elements, and how to keep the player engaged without overcomplicating the gameplay loop.
🔸 Level Design:
I designed the environment layout and player flow to enhance both gameplay and storytelling. Using spatial design and visual cues, I guided players through the map in a way that naturally builds suspense — with room for surprise elements and narrative reveals.
🔸 3D Modeling:
I created multiple 3D assets used throughout the game, focusing on consistency in visual style and atmosphere. All assets were optimized for quick integration into the engine, given the tight deadline.
🎮 The Game:
JamScare is a short, atmospheric horror experience where tension comes from exploration, uncertainty, and minimal guidance. It’s designed to keep the player on edge, relying on sound, lighting, and environment storytelling.
